ABS is a kind of a slight yellow solid resin with some tenacity and has a good resistance to the corrosion of acid,alkali?and salt .Its density is about 1.04~1.06 g/cm3. To some degree ,it can anti-dissolve organic solvent as well.
ABS prototype performs well under the temperature -25℃~60℃ and easy shaped up .Finished products are very bright and clean and easily suitable for different colors painting and chrome-plating.Therefor it is widely used on daily supplies prototypes like medical device,auto model ,home appliances,toys and etc.
Its Advantages:
1.Easy to be colored.ABS is a famous plastic synthesis material whose natural color is beige but not transparent ,however it can be easily painted and can painted colors at customers’ will.Therefore it wins many customers’ preferences ,which is also the reason why many prototype factories choose it.So For most prototype makings, ABS prototype is surely taken the priority first .
2.Can be well glued and not easy to break.This is an important reason that prototype factories choose it. In the making process,it wont absorb water ,for its density is 1.05, which keeps the material dry and largely lowers the cost .What is more ,it can strengthen the material glue effect and keep the work piece from damaging due to collision thanks to its not absorbing water.Yet, still for its not absorbing water traits,make it have no very good anti-fire property ,
so once customers need anti-fire material,ABS may not suit for it .
